Cinco de Mayo Bohemian Fiesta Wedding

I seem to have this thing for coordinating and designing weddings with a Mexican culture theme. You know, with beautiful Mexican textiles, bright beautiful colors, and spiked agua fresca. Back when I was creating all-inclusive wedding collections (something that didn't really take off), my first collection was a Bohemian Fiesta Collection and so it was easy to transition into creating this wedding that took place near Eugene, OR that year (July, 2015) . It was held at the bride's family home in the backyard and included all elements of her maternal heritage, including a Frida Kahlo inspired look.

I custom made a lot of the décor as well, separate to those items that were included in the Collection. The bride liked the idea of including upcycled elements (a woman after my own heart) so we made tin can lanterns, Mexican soda bottle vases, and tissue paper flowers as adornment on all the tables. My favorite element to the whole wedding was something that I had no part of but was just so fun ... a piñata that when busted open rained down tiny plastic tequila bottles, available to everyone just in time for the toast.

With Cinco de Mayo just around the corner I wanted to share with you this very festive wedding as a source of inspiration for throwing your own Bohemian Fiesta, whether for this tequila drinking, mariachi band playing holiday or for any other special day in your life. If you ever need custom design work and are interested in some of the items I created for this wedding, contact me here to inquire about my services. Also check out my Etsy store (currently closed due to my move but will be open again June 2016) for fun Mexican serape accent pillows that create a fun, festive vibe for your home or event.
